After working out at Body Focus Fitness I significantly increased my skating and running speed and increased my overall muscle mass while lowering my body fat percentage. Plus, there are no annoying upsells. No additional or hidden fees, no “logo” shirts to buy, no supplement pushes, and no outside competitions that funnel sign-up fees to the gym owner: THIS IS NOT CROSSFIT! In fact, this is BETTER than Crossfit for the simple reason that the workout, while in a group setting, is about YOU. Your weights, times, strength and speed are your own – NOT written on a board for everyone in the class to see! This is not a competition – this is self-improvement. I push myself hard to beat my own times or weights. I’m not interested in what other people are doing because I feel that improving your physique is a personal thing, tailored to the individual and can’t be properly judged amongst competitors who may be of different height, weight, or experience than you.
I will never lie and say that the workouts are easy; they are not. But they are not difficult. The hardest part is showing up – after that, you’re walked through a warmup and a daily workout that changes. You’re given the tools to finish the job. And a 45-minute class of high intensity interval training is not only over faster than you think but the unique combination of strength training + cardio keeps your metabolism humming for hours – which is much more efficient than wasting unnecessary extra time doing endless repetitions in the gym.
